"I was so pleased with our photo session. Everyone was very nice and easy to work with. I have never had a photographer work so well with my daughter. Our experience was more than I had imagined. Thank you so much! We will definitely be back." -Alyssa Jenkins, Shinnston

Main Street Studios is pleased to welcome back award-winning photographer Heather Kessler. Heather began her professional career with MSS in 2005. In 2008, Heather left MSS to establish her own successful photography business.
In capturing quality images, Heather shares the level of excellence customers expect from MSS. Her portrait artistry earned her a top 3 spot in PROFESSIONAL PHOTOGRAPHER magazine's cover contest in 2009. Her landscape photography has also been featured in WONDERFUL WEST VIRGINIA magazine. Heather joins Renee Preston and Susie Herndon, bringing the MSS staff of full-time photographers to three.
Established by Scott Preston in 1997, MSS has grown from a one-man studio to a staff of five. In August of 2010, Scott began a new career as an abstractor, and is available for photography on a limited basis.
In addition to our photography, MSS offers custom framing by Master Framer Lanora Wentz. Lanora managed her own local framing business before joining MSS. With more than 20 years experience, Lanora is known area-wide for her framing expertise. Supporting both areas of the studio is Customer Services Manager Betsy Leigh. Betsy schedules appointments, processes orders and much more.
MSS, while specializing in children and high school senior photography, also offers family, pet, pageant and commercial portraits as well as wedding photography. Our sports, dance, baton and youth teams fundraising program typically doubles the amount of money leagues are used to making from other photographers. Contact the studio for more information.
Heather returns to the studio on February 8, 2011. Please call 304-472-8416 to schedule an appointment with Heather, Susie or Renee.
Our annual childrens' Christmas special has started and will continue thru December 10. The set this year is called "The Peppermint Forest" and features giant peppermint sticks and lollipops. Our cutest Christmas set yet! This set is all red and white, so red clothing works best.
This special is offered for the low price of $59. This includes the session fee, an 8x10, 2 5x7s and 8 wallets of one pose of your choice. Additional discounted packages will be offered, as well as Christmas cards in various styles and types.

This fall has seen one major change at the studio, and that is the absence of "founding father" Scott Preston. For the past couple of years, with Scott's degenerative arthritis resulting in 5 surgeries, he was doing less and less photography. Susie Herndon and I (Renee) were doing 90% of photography here in the studio and on location. Scott found he was becoming less challenged and decided to look for opportunities outside of the studio. At the first of August, Scott had his second hip replacement on his right side, and at the end of August began working as an abstractor. For those of you whom don't know what an abstractor does, (I didn't!) they research mineral rights at courthouses. He is very much enjoying this new challenge.
Now, this resulted in changes for those of us remaining at the studio. We have divided Scott's duties among us to pick up the slack. Wow, I didn't realize just how much Scott did to keep the studio running smoothly! For the first time, we are photographing schools and processing those orders without him. While we've all helped at the schools, Scott was the go-to guy on actual processing of proofs and orders. Betsy, Susie and I have learned a lot this fall about how this all works!
On top of all the new stuff, Susie's Dad has been in the hospital for close to 6 weeks now. He has been so ill, sometimes are afraid we will get "the call" anytime. Because of this, Susie has been working a less regular schedule. As a result, our usual quick turnaround time has slowed a bit. We are so very sorry for the delays, but except for working 24/7, we just can't avoid it. We love our clients and want to please all of you, so please continue to be patient with us. I know that we are taking longer for seemingly small requests like putting images online, or adding a photo to facebook, but please keep in mind that those are not the only things we are juggling now. Each one is important, and we WILL get to them!
As photographers, Susie and I LOVE our careers. We want to create beautiful, heirloom-quality memories for each of you. We devote hours to continuing education, attending photography schools and conferences across the country to learn new trends and hone our old skills. Nothing pleases us more than the "oohs and aahhs" and tears we see when we present our work to our clients.
I've invested thousands of dollars in the last 2 years in beautiful angels wings and pettiskirts for children, cool, one-of-a-kind senior sets both indoors and out, and props galore! We are busier than ever, and look forward to photographing you and your families for years to come.
Thank you again. We truly appreciate your patronage, your kind words about our art and most of all, your friendship.
Renee Preston
